Extracurricular and Trips

Not all learning happens in the classroom. Extracurricular activity and school trips are an important part of a young person's journey at Kinross High School.  They are integral to building a strong ethos and as sense of belonging.  They also provide a great opportunity for pupils to mix with others outside their own class and year group.

School Trips

In years S1 to S3, we offer a universal excursion for all young people in the year.

S1 - a team building activity.  Young people will attend in their classes to take part in this activity.

S2 - a choice of curriculum based trips will be offered and each young person will chose one experience.

S3 - a residential experience will be offered to young people either in the UK or abroad.  There will be a choice of options for young people to chose from based on their interests.

All young people in S1 to S3 are encouraged to participate in our universal offer.  Young people who are receiving free school meals will be supported to participate.

Experiences are also offered across the school to young people who are pursuing a particular interest such as a ski trip or taking part in a competition

Exatracurricular

We offer a wide variety of clubs that cater for all interests.  It's not just sports, orchestras and choirs that are on offer, there are clubs like Chinese culture and Dungeons and Dragons.

Clubs are advertised in our weekly pupil bulletin.

Volunteering for Active Schools is a great way to become more involved in the life of the school. Volunteers are at the heart of the work of Active Schools and are the key to ensuring that sporting activities happen and that they are sustainable. Volunteers give young people opportunities to try different sports and help create the next generation of sporting stars. They help young people live an active lifestyle which has many physical, mental, social and emotional benefits.
