Mrs Shaw - Headteacher

Head Shot Jillian Shaw

I am delighted to offer you a warm welcome to Kinross High School. It is a privilege to introduce myself as the Headteacher of this vibrant and inclusive learning community.

Whether you are a prospective pupil, parent or member of our local community, I hope you find our website a helpful resource and insight into life at Kinross High. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you would like to know more – we warmly welcome your interest and involvement in our school.

Kinross High School is a vibrant and modern comprehensive school situated within the Loch Leven Community Campus. We are a community of just over 900 young people, with our catchment encompassing six associated Primary Schools: Arngask; Cleish; Fossoway; Kinross; Milnathort and Portmoak Primary School. Our Campus serves to support our full community though providing a range of sports and leisure facilities, activities as well as a well-resourced community library and museum.

At Kinross High School, we believe in the potential of all young people and have both strong traditions and beliefs based on high expectations and standards. Our school vision of "Learning Together; Achieving Together" encapsulates our commitment to our community values and collaborative approach, ensuring the needs and aspirations of our young people are at the heart of everything we do. Our entire school community is encouraged to be Ambitious; Resilient; Responsible and Compassionate. We inspire our pupils to believe in themselves, aim high, show respect for their full community and truly embrace all that we have to offer! We hope you will support us by encouraging your child to live these values every day and, by doing so, they will get the very best out of their time here.

At Kinross High School, we believe that every child has the ability to maximise their attainment and achieve personal success. Crucial to all at Kinross is our focus on ensuring that all learners develop as well rounded and well-informed citizens, capable of being valuable members of their community. Our vision for young people’s success at Kinross can only be realised when staff, parents/carers and pupils work together, respect one another and their environment. For that reason, we are keen for pupils and parents/carers to be involved in continually evaluating our progress as a school and helping us provide the best possible learning experiences.

I look forward to seeing our young people continue to learn, develop and flourish in their education at Kinross High School.
