Exams

Young people in S4-6 will work towards their SQA qualifications which range from National 1 to Baccalaureate.  These qualifications are delivered through a variety of assessment such as modules marked in school, practical work, assignments and exams.

The main exam diet for national 5 to advanced higher qualifications will take place in April and May.  The full details can be found on the SQA website.

To prepare young people for their exams, young people in S4 will sit prelims in November/December, whilst young people in S5/6 will sit prelims in January each year. 

Appeals 2025

Young people who sat exams in 2025 can appeal their result by registering directly on SQA website.  Appeals must be registered by 26 August 2025.  

If you register an appeal, your teacher will discuss this with you before making a final decision.

S4 Prelim Dates

The S4 prelim diet is expected to start on 17 November and end on 5 December 2025.

S5/6 Prelim Dates

S5-6 learners will start their prelims on 12 January and finish on 30 January 2026. 

Timetables will be published at the end of October for both exam diets.
